A2 Assessors Award

The A2 (Assessor) Award is a nationally recognised assessment qualification. It differs from A1 in that it only covers assessment by Observation and Questioning. As such it is ideal for those who carry out work-based assessments.

The qualification aims are to ensure that the Assessor is able to:
- Assess candidates against agreed standards by observation and questioning
- Give candidates feedback on assessment decisions.
- Contribute to internal quality procedures.

Content
The A2 Qualification comprises four elements and covers:
- Agreeing and reviewing plans for assessing candidates' performance
- Assessing candidates' performance against the agreed standards
- Assessing candidates' knowledge against the agreed standards
- Making an assessment decision and giving feedback

Assessment and Evidence
The A2 assessment will require the student to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the assessment process and their ability to competently assess.
The A2 student will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating their ability to competently assess candidates. Part of the course will involve you assessing NVQ learners.

How Long Does it Take to Achieve
The initial induction phase is two days of classroom-based tuition. This is followed by your workplace assessments. The time frame for completion of the course is largely down to the candidate – but the minimum time would be ten weeks. In reality it may take several months to achieve this award.

How Much Does it Cost
The cost is £595 + vat – this covers tea/coffee, certification and all associated instructor costs

This award is approved by the MOD in support of the ELC scheme.

We can also run this course at your venue for a total cost of £3200 + vat for up to six delegates. Additional delegates – to a maximum of 12 - would be charged at £450 + vat each.

This can be reduced in certain situations – please call us to discuss your training needs.

Companies with 5-249 staff maybe able to access funding for this training via Train to Gain
