OCN Level 3 Manual Handling Instructors (With People) Course


This four-day course is aimed at those who carry out manual handling of people training within the workplace. It is designed to allow trainers to gain the necessary subject knowledge and to put this into practise.

Learning outcome are;

• Know what is meant by the terms manual handling, risk and hazard

• Understand the Manual Handling Regulations and their application in a workplace

• Know the safe principles of moving and handling

• Know how the spine and muscles can be damaged by poor moving and handling techniques

• Understand the effects of perception on moving and handling

• Compile a file of information relating to manual handling that is appropriate to the workplace

• Understand relevant aspects of learning theory

• Prepare for managing and delivering training sessions

• Create a range learning resources

• Reflect on own practice

Assessment
• By practical observation of moving and handling techniques.
• A 20 minute micro teach
• 3 written assignments


Costs
The cost per delegate attending an “open” course is £495 + VAT. This covers certification, manuals, a full training pack and tea/coffee.

The cost of an “in-house” course is £4000 + VAT for up to 10 students when run at your venue. Additional students are charged at £300 + VAT each.

This includes certification and manuals for each student, and a training pack
for the company.
