How We Do Business
Track Record
Established in 1999, Aid Training and Operations Ltd has an enviable track record in the delivery of first aid and health and safety training. Organisations such as the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Fire Brigades and the Police regularly use us for their training delivery.
Admin Support
Our training is backed up by a fully staffed office using the latest IT equipment. Bookings are looked after from start to finish by our dedicated administration staff providing a personal touch at all times. For clients requiring volumes of training we use Key Account Managers to help build and foster a good working relationship.
We aim to have bookings fully administered on the day of instruction. This includes a confirmation letter and joining instructions/maps as necessary. We understand that sometimes things change, for instance venues and timings – at all stages we remain flexible and adapt to changing circumstances.
The office staff can respond to technical questions about the training and any legislation that appertains to it. In the rare instance they can’t, they refer this to the management/training team for resolve.
On completion of the training we produce professional certificates for each student – these are sent out along with an invoice – generally within five working days.
All training activity is recorded on a bespoke Access Database. This allows us to inform the client if somebody has attended training – and where and when that training was conducted. It also allows us to send reminder letters to managers advising when their staff’s certification is due for renewal. From this system we are able to produce free of charge replacement certificates for those candidates who may have misplaced their original.
The Training Team
We pride ourselves on using the very best instructors. Our training team currently consists of fifty staff – this includes both full and part time.
All Instructors have vast operational experience that allows them to train with first-hand experience. This is coupled with suitable training qualifications, normally City and Guilds. We are taking the new government regulations for all teachers as being “best practice” and are ensuring that all our training staff meet the new standards.
We operate a continual professional development programme which includes staff study and training days.
All trainers have a complete set of training equipment including laptop/projector and mannequins.
Training Delivery
Our training ethos is based on delivering good common sense principles that delegates can remember and therefore use in an emergency situation. We believe that all training should be fun, relevant, inclusive and interactive.
We recognise that First Aid is a practical skill that is supported by theoretical knowledge. We devote time to both, allowing adequate time for practising role-plays and working through scenarios.
We are an equal opportunities employer and service provider and believe in inclusion in all aspects of our training delivery.
The syllabus of all courses is based on current best practise and all training is based on HSE approved lesson plans. We are regularly monitored by the HSE to ensure compliance with their standards. In addition, we regularly monitor and assess our trainers to maintain high training standards.
We are flexible with our dates and timings, allowing the client greater freedom of choice. We are able to train at any time of the day or night 24/7 and are happy to split courses over afternoons, evenings and weekends. We generally require four weeks notice of a booking, however we accommodate most “last minute” requests.
We do have a cancellation policy, however we very rarely enforce it –we take the view that if training is cancelled or rescheduled it is very rarely done maliciously. The only occasion we enforce this is when all course delegates fail to attend. We would prefer to build a business relationship based on mutual trust and understanding and not impose punitive cancellation charges.
Our contingency procedure allows us to rapidly replace trainers who are unable to attend training events due to unforeseen circumstances such as, illness and family bereavement. We never fully commit the training team – allowing spare trainers and/or the management team to step in at short notice.
All delegates receive a professional manual/workbook whilst on the course to allow for future reference.
All training is evaluated using Student Feedback forms. These forms are reviewed and monitored by the management of Aid Training and feedback and advice given to the trainer concerned. In addition managers and those responsible for arranging training are encouraged to feedback to us using a Training Evaluation Form.
Our training is mainly carried out at the client’s premises. Where locally hired venues are required we carry out a full risk assessment.
Training Review
We aim to deliver exactly what the client requires and welcome the opportunity to liaise directly by way of regular review meetings to ensure that we are maintaining the stated aims and standards.

We carry the following insurance:
Professional Indemnity 5,000,000
Product Liability 5,000,000
Public Liability 5,000,000
Employers Liability 10,000,000
