I just want to say that the two day course in Ashbourne Derbyshire was the best I have ever attended.
I have come away feeling that I not only know what my response should be as a first aider, but also that I have gained a deeper, clearer understanding of why I need to do it. For me that helps to cement information and remember it.
The course content was clear and concise. Arguably though, the most important component of the course was Simon our trainer.
I liked the pace of his delivery. That he talked BEFORE he showed the written power point was really useful. As a dyslexic I find the written word on screen very distracting when trying to assimilate information. It was great that at every step we were encouraged to ask questions and to get clarification if needed. Everyone felt comfortable to do so.
The set up of first aid scenarios worked brilliantly. Working in small groups to deal with a "casualty" meant that we gained from each other's Knowlegde/memory of what to do. We could discuss what the priority was as the scenario changed and as a follow up discuss anything that we could have done differently/better. This process has given me alot more confidence than I had before.
Simon also gave tips to make things easily remembered, and suggestions as to how we can keep our first aid knowlege fresh in our minds.
Thank you Aid -Training and thank you Simon
Best wishes
