Resus – No Change Yet!!!

Peter Scotland, a senior trainer at Aid Training attended the Resus Council Symposium in Birmingham on 6th November. The new resus guidelines are due out on 15th October 2015 – but apart from saying that they are meeting in January to discuss possible changes there was no clue as to what the changes might be. From October 1st, the Human Medicines (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2014, will allow primary and secondary schools in England to obtain salbutamol inhalers for the treatment of acute asthma attacks in children. The salbutamol pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDIs) can be used in an emergency provided written parental consent has been given.
