Please note that from January 2020 we will be running the NEW National General Certificate (NG) – it promises to be more practically focused and less academic:
The new revised National General Certificate changes are:
- The syllabus wording is easier to understand, more direct and less formal
- There will be one exam only instead of two and will support the use of plain English
- There will be a 2-part practical. This gives more weight to the skills of risk profiling and risk assessment and draws upon common workplace hazards as well as the process of risk assessment
Assessment & certification
Each of the above units is assessed by a two-hour written examination. A unit certificate is issued denoting achievement of each unit. A certificate parchment is issued on successful completion of the two units and the practical assessment.
Unit 1 - five days, Unit 2 - five days + practical assessment.
