Hi
I have just completed the FPOS course in London and would like to share some thoughts with you. (Don't do facebook etc hence this email)
Firstly, the booking process was quick and easy. The course book arrrived rapidly and any queries I had were dealt with efficiently by your office.
As for the course, well it was among the best I have ever attended, maybe the best. I was not surprised to be the only female on the course but was welcomed and made to feel a member of the team. This was due in no small part by the atmsophere created by the trainer Chris. His no nonsense approach was really refreshing. He gave loads of positive feedback throughout and any technical terms used were well explained in a simple way, without being condescending.
Demonstrations were good with Chris ensuring we all could see what was going on. There was an adequate amount of equipment for the size of the course although "Fred" looked as if he had been hung, no doubt the result of much handling. Chris used a variety of teaching methods during the course to ensure everyone's learning needs were catered for. He got to know our names quickly which was nice. The scenarios we did were well thought out and great fun as well as being team building and very informative. Again the feedback was positive.
The assessment process was run with military precision so we were not kept hanging around for too long.
Group dynamics of the course were interesting, due to the makeup of the students (some going to hostile environments others undertaking roles in the UK) there could have been difficulties with making sure the subjects covered were relevant to all. This was not a problem as Chris was able to relates all the types of injuries/MOI/treatment to all environments.
I would also like to thank everyone else involved in the course, including the other participants, who made it an enjoyable experience. I will definitely recommend this course to others.
Many thanks
Regards
Clover
