The practical session is 1 day – held at your nursery / school on your chosen date. The online top is undertaken after the practical session – this needs to be within 6 weeks.
Your trained team will have FREE access to our online refresher course – recommended annually by the HSE.
Who should attend
This course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the needs of Ofsted. It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School Staff (dealing with Foundation Stage) and anybody who deals with children and wants a more in-depth course.
Course outline
Classroom - Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take ~Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally ~Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally including AED ~ Help a baby or child who is having a seizure ~ Help a baby or child who is choking ~ Help a baby or child who is bleeding ~ Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock) ~ Help a baby or child who is suffering from anaphylactic shock ~ Help a baby or child who has had an electric shock ~ Help a baby or child with head, neck or back injuries ~ Help a baby or child having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction
Online - Help a baby or child who has burns or scalds ~ Help a baby or child who has a suspected fracture ~ Help a baby or child who is suspected of being poisoned ~ Help a baby or child with an eye injury & foreign body in eyes, ears or nose ~ Help a baby or child with a bite or sting ~ Help a baby or child who is suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold ~ Help a baby or child having meningitis / sickle cell anaemia and/or febrile convulsions ~ Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and the need for recording accidents and incidents)

Assessment & certification
Practical assessments are conducted during classroom delivery, a further online assessment is undertaken, certification can be printed by the delegate on successful completion. Certification is valid for 3 years
Pricing & booking
£525 plus vat for up to 12 of your team, this includes both the face to face and online elements, a work book and certificate for each delegate (valid for 3 years and printed on completion of the online element). If you have more people to train we can send 2 trainers for up to 24 delegates (including the online element) for £700 plus vat.
