Level 3 Assessors Award/Certificate
This course is available either via Zoom or through our online education platform (access anytime).
As with all new qualifications they are broken down into units and as such you can complete units now and add to them in the future to gain higher/different recognition.

Who should attend
Anyone who wants to assess others within their field of competency, either against work based standards, qualification standards or both!
There are no prerequisites for the Assessor Awards.
Course outline
- The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is a knowledge-only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or those who need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practising.
- The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is for those who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment using the following assessment methods: observation/examining work products/oral questioning and discussion/use of witnesses/learner statements/Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
- The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement is for those who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally related subject areas using the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments/skills tests/oral and written questions/assignments/projects/case studies/RPL.
- The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is for those who may use all of the above-listed assessment methods based upon sound assessment principles.
Course Duration
The time frame to complete your chosen qualification depends upon a number of factors, largely your commitment to self directed study and producing the written work required. It is also dependant upon timely coordination of the observation day we undertake at your work setting. As a guide though we have given a breakdown below:
The Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
- This theory Award does not require a workplace observation visit.
- The understanding required to complete the assignment for this award can be achieved via Zoom or through our online education platform (access anytime).
- Time allocated to this unit should be in the order of 24 + hours.
The Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
- This Award does require a one day workplace observation visit. If you are not permitted to have us onsite, we can request approval to conduct the observations virtually.
- The understanding required to complete the assignment for this Award can be achieved via Zoom or through our online education platform (access anytime).
- Time allocated to this portfolio based Award should be in the order of 60 + hours allowing for initial induction, assignment completion, practical observations and all associated written work.
The Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement
- This Award does require a one day workplace observation visit. If you are not permitted to have us onsite, we can request approval to conduct the observations virtually.

Pricing & booking
The cost of an in house course for the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is £3900 plus vat ( in house classroom induction) or £3300 plus vat (online induction) for up to 6 delegates, additional delegates thereafter are charged at £350 plus vat up to a maximum of 12 delegates. This includes all certification, registration and instructor associated costs.
