Who should attend
For people who have fire safety responsibilities at work, particularly those tasked with carrying out fire risk assessments and preventing loss of life and property. Even in low-risk workplaces, protecting people and property from fire takes specialist know-how. The NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management gives you this knowledge.
- Unit 1 – NGC1 – Management of Health & Safety - 5 days + half day for exam
Element 1 – Foundation in Health & Safety
Element 2 – Health & Safety Management Systems 1 – Plan
Element 3 - Health & Safety Management Systems 2 – Do
Element 4 - Health & Safety Management Systems 3 – Check
Element 5 - Health & Safety Management Systems 4 – Act
- Unit 1 – FC1 – Fire Safety and Risk Management - 5 days + practical assessment
Element 1 – Managing Fire Safety
Element 2 – Principles of fire and explosion
Element 3 – Causes and prevention of fires
Element 4 – Fire protection in buildings
Element 5 – Safety of people in the event of fire
Element 6 – Fire Safety Risk Assessment
Unit NGC1 five days, Unit FC1 five days.
Assessment & certification
Each of the above units is assessed by a two-hour written examination. A unit certificate is issued denoting achievement of each unit. A certificate parchment is issued on successful completion of the two units and the practical assessment.
